Welcome
CODELA is a non-profit organization that provides a developmentally appropriate service for preschool age children by encouraging and guiding the children, respecting each child as an individual and stimulating a child’s natural interest in learning. We respect and believe each child is a unique individual with the ability to construct knowledge about themselves, others, and the world around them through creative learning.
Our goal is to help foster the development of a young child’s creative thinking by giving them meaningful opportunities using play to experiment, explore, question, and discover. CODELA’s staff are qualified and dedicated to developing your child’s potential while also being sensitive to your child’s individual needs.

Program Philosophy
The philosophy of Coalicion De Latinos Americanos Inc. Preschool Program is based upon the belief that children move through stages of development based on their knowledge and experiences. Children’s cognitive, linguistic and social-emotional learning occur through their interaction with adults and peers and through the use of challenging materials. We believe that children must have positive self-concepts to become competent learners.
The preschool program uses multi-age grouping to give children a variety of social, cognitive, physical, emotional and linguistic experiences. We accept the children at their developmental level and give the child the experience needed to develop and learn. We recognize that each child is unique and special. The education of each child requires the joint effort of parents, community and program staff.

Program Guiding Principles
Children learn best in an atmosphere that promotes self-esteem and self-confidence
Children’s self-esteem and self-confidence prospers and strengthens within the child’s culture. Language is encouraged and respected through planned and unplanned activities.
Children learn and grow best in teacher planned and child centered activities that are developed around the child’s readiness skills; language capabilities and different interests, all of which incorporate the primary areas of Child Development.
Child success is enhanced when the involvement includes: parents, center staff and community in creating a network for the benefit of the child’s educational needs.
